Fuel prices are influenced by several factors, including global oil prices, the strength of the rand against the US dollar, and government fuel levies. When international oil prices rise or the rand weakens, local fuel prices usually follow.

Taxi commuters, delivery drivers, and small business owners often feel the biggest impact first. Higher fuel costs can also lead to increased food prices, as transport expenses rise across supply chains.

Many motorists are now looking for ways to save money by reducing unnecessary trips, using fuel-efficient driving habits, and planning travel more carefully.


As South Africa waits for the official update, many families are hoping for relief rather than another increase. Fuel remains one of the biggest monthly expenses for millions, making every price change important.

Kianna Underwood, Former Nickelodeon Star, Killed in Brooklyn Hit-and-Run

Kianna Underwood, a former child actress known for her work on Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy series All That and the animated show Little Bill, has died at age 33 after being struck in a hit-and-run accident in Brooklyn, New York. The tragic incident occurred early Friday morning, January 16, in the Brownsville neighborhood when a sedan hit Underwood as she tried to cross Pitkin Avenue near Mother Gaston Boulevard.
