Ball Lights Up Lakers With Nine 3-Pointers in Hornets’ Big Win

LaMelo Ball delivered a spectacular scoring night as the Charlotte Hornets rolled past the Los Angeles Lakers 135–117 at Crypto.com Arena on Thursday. Ball tied a career high by sinking nine 3-pointers and finished with 30 points, 11 assists and six rebounds, including 27 points coming in the second half to pull away from the host team.

Charlotte shot the ball exceptionally well, hitting 47% from beyond the arc and 54% overall as Brandon Miller added 26 points, Miles Bridges contributed 25, and rookie Kon Knueppel scored 19 in the balanced offensive performance.

Despite a huge night from Luka Dončić, who poured in 39 points with six triples, and 29 points from LeBron James, the Lakers couldn’t keep pace. Los Angeles also saw minimal scoring from its bench, going 4-for-19 from the field, which hampered their efforts to match the Hornets’ firepower. 

Charlotte’s win continues a strong West Coast trip and showcases the explosive potential of its backcourt, while the Lakers look to regroup as their recent struggles continue.

Kianna Underwood, Former Nickelodeon Star, Killed in Brooklyn Hit-and-Run

Kianna Underwood, a former child actress known for her work on Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy series All That and the animated show Little Bill, has died at age 33 after being struck in a hit-and-run accident in Brooklyn, New York.
